You've just received your digital photo gallery... now what?
A beautiful gallery of images are before you, and I'm sure you are eager to download, print, and share your new pictures. This blog post will guide you through the downloading process. It is important that you download your pictures to a personal device so that you will always have access to them. Downloading to multiple locations ensures that you also have a backup, in case anything should happen to one of your devices.
Downloading your entire gallery on a phone or computer
While viewing your photo gallery on a computer, you will find a row of icons in the upper right hand corner. Click on the downward pointing arrow icon. Below, I have circled it in green. If you hover over the icon, it will say "Download."
If you are on your phone, you will find three dots on the far right side to the top of the gallery. Tap on this and choose "Download."
You will then be asked to enter an email address. Do so, and click next.
Next, you will need to choose your download size and where you would like to save your photos. For download size, I reccomend choosing "high resolution." For location, that depends on your personal preference. You will be given the choice between saving to your device, Google Photos, or Dropbox. For backup purposes, you could save to multiple places. Make your selections, and click "start download."
If you chose "save to my device"
Your images will process, and when they are ready for download, you will be given a link to click or tap. You can either wait on screen for the link to appear, or follow the link you receive in your email. Either way, click or tap to start the download. It may take several minutes to download since the files are very large.
Once your photos have downloaded, locate your downloads folder on your computer or phone. Since the files are large, it will be downloaded as a zipped folder. You will need to extract the files to have access to them.
On a PC, right click and choose "extract all," then choose the folder on your computer you would like your files to go to. On a mac, simply double click the .zip file.
On a phone, locate your Files app. Select the zipped folder, and extract the files. They should now appear in your photos folder on your device.
If you chose "save to Google Photos"
You will need to follow the prompts to log into your preferred Google account. The photos will then automatically send to your Google Photos. It may take a few minutes since the files are large. Once the photos have finished downloading, you will receive an email as well as the prompt below.
Make sure you are logged into the correct Google account, and your images will appear as an album in your Google Photos.
If you chose "Save to Dropbox"
You will need to follow the prompts to log in to your Dropbox account. The photos will then automatically send to your Dropbox account. It may take a few minutes since the files are large. Once the photos have finished downloading, you will receive an email as well as the prompt below.
Follow the link or login to your Dropbox account, and your images will appear in a folder labeled "Little Dragan Photography."
Downloading a single image
If viewing your gallery on a computer, you can either hover over a single image or click on it. To download, click the icon that looks like a downward pointing arrow. The icon is circled in the screenshot below.
If you are viewing your gallery on your phone, tap on the photo you would like to download. Then tap on the same icon as indicated above, the downward pointing arrow.
You can then select whether you would like to save it to your device, to Google Photos, or to Dropbox.
If you select your device, the image will automatically download and can be found in your downloads folder of your computer or phone.
If you select Google Photos or Dropbox, the photo will automatically send to your account. There may be prompts to have you login to your account before it downloads.
